Why did you start your blog?
I started Little Mrs. Particular honestly as a place to share about our wedding! I loved everything about it- from our engagement to planning and then the actual day was a literal dream for me. I wanted to share all that I learned along the way and also help brides remember the true meaning of the day. The details matter but they won’t make your wedding day. Marrying your best friend will!
Since then, it’s evolved into a space where I share my life and style! This includes my favorite things like; highlighting our local community, home decor, fashion and more! I strive to encourage readers to see the tiny details in each day that make it great. Life is lived in those little moments, not the huge occasions, so we have to recognize and be endlessly thankful for the smallest details of our day.
Do you blog full-time?
I do not blog full-time but I am self-employed. I am a Digital Media Specialist and I curate online communications for clients while working from home. I look at my blog as a fun space for me to be creative, share what I love and exercise my passion for curating and creating a really pretty Instagram feed. (All that is popping into my head right now is, “So you think you’re Instagram is like really pretty?”- Mean Girls reference.)
Who takes your photos?
I’ve used photographers in the past but decided to invest in a camera. Mack is my photographer (see our tips for taking your own photos, here)! I love having the control of my images and the ability to edit them myself. It’s time consuming but very worth it to me!
Where did you graduate from and what’s your degree in?
I graduated from Ole Miss and can’t say enough about my experience there. I always tell Mack that we MUST own a home there someday because it’s associated with some of the best times of my life. If you’ve never been to The Grove… I highly recommend it. Reese Witherspoon notes it as one of her favorite southern staples, so you know it’s good!
My degree is in Business Marketing with an emphasis in Public Relations. However, I previously worked in development and fundraising for non-profits.
How did you and Mack meet?
It’s a very small world! I met Mack through my neighbors in my dorm (turned best friends) at Ole Miss during my freshman year. They went to high school with him and I was in Texas visiting them, and met him. We didn’t start dating until three years later! We then dated long-distance for almost four years (it can be done!) before getting engaged and of course, married! It’s been a wild ride and I am so thankful!
Where are you originally from?
My hometown is Denver, Colorado. I lived there until I left to attend Ole Miss and haven’t really looked back! Colorado is beautiful but also cold and snowy. I prefer the climate in the southeastern region of our country much more! We currently live on Florida’s Emerald Coast and I wonder everyday how I got so lucky to live in a postcard. It’s amazing.
What are your favorite blogs to read?
My top three favorite of all-time are Cupcakes and Cashmere, Chronicles of Frivolity, and Gal Meets Glam.
